Boudoir imagery is something that fell into my lap after a dear friend reached out to me and asked if I would take intimate photos of her to give to her husband before having a baby. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but grabbed it by the horns and dove in. It was love at first photo shoot.
Since that day, I've been hoping and praying that more women would treat themselves in this way, because it is such a magical experience to watch women blossom in front of my camera. Without fail, women are tense bundles of nerves in the beginning [if they even make it to the photo shoot without (vomiting) backing out], but once they see the first picture of themselves on the back of my camera, they're like "whoa! that's me?!" and it's ON.
We, as women, have a tendency to put everyone else first & then spend the rest of the time feeling guilty if we indulge in something for ourselves. I'm not standing on a pedestal saying this either; I'm one of you! I take a bubble bath and immediately confess my sins for making my husband parent our children single-handed for 30 minutes. Y'all, it's a condition. But I promise you that doing a boudoir session will empower you, encourage you, and inspire you to love yourself 100x more than ever before and remind yourself of who you truly are. These may just look like pictures of beautiful women, but it's so, so, so much more than that. It's pictures of women who tore themselves down too many times, who needed reminded of who they are because they lost themselves, women who are starting over, and yes! - women who stood up to say "I'm f*%king beautiful - take a picture!" Ha.
